07 Mar Linda Bailey Endorses Bill MacDonald
During the course of this nomination campaign, Bill has been speaking with many friends, neighbours, and colleagues and we’re pleased to share that Linda Bailey endorses Bill MacDonald.
Linda is a Registered Nurse at Mountain Lea Lodge in Bridgetown, is a long-term Liberal support and is a proud resident of Lequille! She and Bill Bill first met through acting in Peggy Armstrong’s play, 50s On Parade at the King’s Theatre in Annapolis Royal. Linda says she always found Bill to be professional, kind and considerate.
The two of them also connected on other, more serious, community projects including work on having a bronze bust commissioned of Annapolis Royal’s former mayor, Daurene Lewis and having the plaza at Town Hall named in her honour. This was done to make sure that no one ever forgets that Daurene Lewis was the first female black mayor in Canada.
Additionally, there were projects around the recognition of a long-missing human rights proclamation that was supposed to be on display at Town Hall.
Linda had this to say about Bill, “It gives me a great deal of pleasure to endorse Bill MacDonald as the Liberal nominee for MLA for the Annapolis riding. When Bill was mayor, he did much to promote the town and surrounding areas. He recognized the contributions of former residents of the town regardless of race or colour. This was very important to me being a minority. I am convinced that Bill will represent all citizens in his riding equally.”
