Peter Nicholson Endorses Bill MacDonald

Bill is so happy to have the wholehearted support of his friend and colleague, Dr. Peter Nicholson! Peter has quietly made many wonderful contributions to his hometown of Annapolis Royal over the years and both he and Bill care deeply about the success and well-being of all of Annapolis.

Peter has held positions such as being the Nova Scotia Liberal Party MLA for Victoria, and Special Advisor to the Secretary-General at the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) in Paris. He was the Founding Chair of the Canada Foundation for Innovation and is currently Chair of the Canadian Institute for Climate Choices on a national level and Vice-Chair of the Annapolis Climate & Ecological Research Coalition (where Bill sits as Chair) on a local level. The ACERC Coalition is working on a proposal to repurpose the Annapolis Tidal Plant into a world-class climate and ecological research facility focusing on helping our region adapt to rising sea levels and the revitalization of the Annapolis River.

Peter, who is a member of both the Order of Canada and the Order of Nova Scotia, was also an original member of Prime Minister Brian Mulroney’s National Advisory Board on Science and Technology in addition to being a top policy advisor to Prime Minister Paul Martin – with the ability to work across party lines; something that Peter and Bill share.
